FCD's Old Testament program asks students to read EVERY word of the Hebrew scriptures that are included in the Christian Bible. Reading from cover to cover may not be the easiest or most logical way to approach the Hebrew scriptures, but the goal is to instill a sense of preliminary mastery of the material, laying a solid foundation for life-long study.

Historical background for the scripture reading is provided by Jewish scholars (DVD for in-person groups and CD for online students). Concordance usage and reference to interlinear texts bring the English language speaker a bit closer to the texts as originally written, so that the beauty, economy, and vividness of the original language can be sampled.

Question Book for each chapter of the Bible can be used by students after reading the scripture to check their basic comprehension, or beforehand as a guide for what to look for as they read.
